The Leland Feitz Photograph Collection contains images of various structures in the Pikes Peak region with a special focus on the Antlers Hotel in Colorado Springs, the subject of one of his 27 books. Leland Feitz, local historian and author, was born March 17, 1924 in La Jara, a south central Colorado farming community. He attended Colorado College and spent several years in New York City writing before returning to Colorado. He loved writing about local characters and historic communities such as Cripple Creek, Creede, and Victor. In the 1960s he started Little London Press, a publishing company that focused on works exploring the history of the Pikes Peak region. Feitz was the historic voice of the Pikes Peak region for decades. No subject was too large or too small for Feitz to preserve. He gave equal time to "outhouses and whorehouses, churches and gold mines, and the famous and the not so famous." Feitz died February 10, 2013.
